Sensational developments In the notorious Dr. Ostrowski case of South Chicago are coming; thick and fast, and bat for the statute of limitations the
doctor would be entanKled in m me
from which it would take him a Ions
time to extricate himself.
Ab it is be and bis attorney have a fight on their hands which if lost
will result in a prison sentence.
Lottie Rydecweski, the young Polish woman, who claims to have been induced to come to this country by prom
ises of the doctor, charging him with
a criminal operation upon her. "While
the warrant Is for a specific operation
said to bave been performed some time last November she says that he has
performed three similar operations up on her. Continned Until Oct. 10th.
Dr. Ostrowski's case was continued
in the South Chicago court before Judge
Lan try's court yesterday until Oct. 10.
Judge Lantry will be downtown then, and the case will be -taken to his court there. Three witnesses were examined yesterday, among them Lottie and Captain Halpin of the South Chicago
police station.
Dottle testified that she had loaned $300 to the doctor and that he owed her $700 in wages. That he had induced her to live with him, saying that he would divorce his lawful wife, who is now living in flammond, that he
made advances to her sister and that
thereupon she left him. Attorneys Clash Frequently.
Attorney Hughes, for the physician.
and Attorney Peden, for the prosecu
tors,, clashed frequently over the evi' dence to be submitted to the court, es pecially that of all the detailed evi'
dence should be omitted. Judge Lantry,
hoever, ordered Lottie to tell her story.
It also developed that Dr. Ostrow
ski had been made a defendant in the
court in past years.
While practicing on Halsted and Madison streets he was charged with
conspiracy, ana witn snooting a woman. It was further alleged that he
finally got the woman to sign a state
ment that she herself inflicted the
wound.
