Bryan's Chief Lieutenant Exposed as Member of Secret Society Organized For Purpose of Fighting Union Labor in Muskogee.
Crovernor Charles X. Haskell of Oklahoma, treasurer of the democratic national committee, writer of the Bryan . platform, and one of the chief managers of the Jlryan campaign, was exposed yesterday a the most bitter foe of organized labor -who ever stood for the open shop In his state. In the light of his record, here 10 be stated, his labor declarations, vrhlch Samuel Gonipers indorsed, have a hollow HO 11 nil. Governor Haskell was a charter member of the Citizens' alliance, a secret society organized for the purpose of fighting the demands of union labor in Muskogee three years ago. He -was the prime mover in the fornation of the society, his name headed the list of members, and the society was organized in his building-, the headquarters of the Indianola Contracting Company. - Haskell oa Way to Chicago. Governor Haskell was summoned in haste to Chicago yesterday afternoon for a "trial" to be held before Mr. f Bryan early tomorrow morning, but until the presidential candidate reads here the labor record of his national treasurer, that subject will not be slated for the inquisition. The matter of Mr. Bryan had in mind when his aids here told Haskell to hurry, in this direction was the treasurers connections with the Standard Oil and the trusts. His hostility "to union 'labor will now of course also come up "for inquiry. The governor left Guthrie on the Santa Fe yesterday at 4:50 p. m. and will reach here at 8:47 o'clock tonight. In the morning he will learn his political fate from Mr. Bryan. Heads List of Vnion's Foes. A few days ago the general charge was -made that Governor Haskell was
the . prime mover In th formation .of th Citizens' alliance In his state. On that occasion Mr. H&skell made a weak denial of the accusation in a telegraphic message saying: "The Citizens' alliance story is a false statement, "mamifactarea two years ago by campaign opposition. At that time the state board of the American Federation of -Labor took evidence and decided that no Cltisens' alliance had been organized, and that I had prevented its organization as a friend of union labor." ' In the face of this denial, the Chicago Tribune is in possession of a photographic copy of Mr. Haskell's signature to the charter roll of the organization, and he boldly Jieads the list. He says "liar" to the story. But there Is his signature.

F. TUCKER ORDERS ANOTHER ARREST
After making one more arrest on a charge of violating the pure food law, F. W. Tucker, state pure food inspector left last night for Indianapolis where he Is to appear as the prosecuting witness in a trial in that city. The man arrested is a baker, Hosa Begowich, who but a short time before, was arrested by orders of Health Officer Templin for the same offence. Yesterday the man paid his fine, 22.90 and promised to .clean up. Mr. Tucker then gave the man a scathing denunciation of the way in which "he has been conducting his shop and informed the man that If he ' did not cjean up at once, he would put him out of business. Ne lenience is shown these men after the second offense, and on such serious charges as Begowich has pleaded guilty to. Many More Dirty Places. As to the general condition of the shops, Inspector Tucker said that the conditions In the south end of the town In the foreign district, was bad, and that the majority of them would have to clean up or go out of business at once. The men who have been repeatedly warned by Dr. Templin and brought to the station and fined were the ones whose places were conducted under the most galling sanitary conditions. Mr. Tucker will return within a few days from Indianapolis where he will resume the inspections in the city and more arrests will likely follow. So far every arrest he has made, the defendant has pleaded guilty so that the prosecutions have been an easy matter.
