QUIET HOME WEDDIXG. At the home of Mrs. Barbara Ripley. 612 Henry street, the marriage of her daughter. Miss Bessie Ripley to Harry A. EdgeCombe took place yesterday evening at 6 o'clock. Rev W. VSwitzer of the First M. E. church pronounced the beautiful ring ceremony, launching this new ship on the matrimonial sea. The wedding was a quiet home affair and after luncheon the bride and groom left for Chicago where they will reside. Mr. EdgeCombe is a young artist of fine promise and conducts a studio In the city. He impresses all who meet him as a man of character and ability. Of the bride, no words need be spoken, for nearly her whole life has been lived In Hammond where her warm heart and bright life has developed a wide circle of friends. Miss Ripleys activity in the Methodist church, in the public schools and in social circles will make her greatly missed. A1V of her friends will proph

There are a few attractions that ome to the theaters that are in the vay of staples to a merchant, attractions upon which both the public, and theater management bank, the one for entertainment, and the other for profit, and these two always go hand in hand. Such an attraction is Miss Beulah Pointer in her version of Mary J. Holmes' popular novel -Lena Rivers," in which she will be seen at the Towle Opera house for an engagement of four nights beginning Sunday matineee. A splendid supporting company is carried, the mounting s brand new and of the best and the electrical and other effects are of the best and most approved type. PYTHIAN SISTERS MEET. The regular meeting of Hammond Temple No. 37, Pythian Eisters. will be held Friday evening in the K. of P. hall. All members are urged to be present as special business will come before the members. HOLD REGULAR MEETING. The members of Silver Light Hive L. O. T. M. held their regular meeting last evening In Long s hall. There was a good attendance of members present, and after the regular lodge session, a social hour was spent.
GIVES INFORMAL PARTY. Miss Lenore Shaw gave a very delightful party last evening for a number of her friends as a farewell to Charles Cryser, who leaves for his former home In Wilbur, Pd., to accept a position. Informal dancing, games and music furnished pleasant entertainment during the evening, after which the hostess served her guestt with a dainty luncheon. The guests were; Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Dysart, Mrs. Ogder, Misses Mable and Lulu Sherby, Dorothy Ripley, Birdie Housley, Maud Shea, Agnes Lyons, Mary Rahen and Katherine and Lenore Shaw. A TASTEFUL WAY TO SERVE EGGS. Six eggs, half a cupful of cream (or milk); two mushrooms, one teaspoonful of salt, a little pepper, three tablespoonf ul of butter, a slight grating of nutmeg. Cut the mushrooms into pieces the size of dice, and fry them for one minute in one tablespoonful of butter. Beat the eggs, salt, pepper and cream together, and put them in a saucepan. Add the butter and mushrooms to these ingredients. Stir over a moderate heat until the mixture begins to thicken. Take from the fire and beat rapidly until the eggs become quite thick and creamy. Have slices of toast on a hot dish. Heap the mixture on these, and garnish with .points of toast. Serve immediately.

MILLER WANTS CONTINUANCE

W. McMahon this morning but asked
for a continuance first for one hour and
then until tomorrow morning. He wil not plead guilty but will hire an at
torney and fight the case. It was to enable him to get an attorney that the
continuance was allowed.
