CROWN POINT NEWS

A good story is told on a certain town hostelry, by a traveling man who tried to get dinner there yesterday. After a bowl of shadow soup had been served, the waiter brought on a place with a piece of meat that resembled the very last tall-end remnant of a cow, and a few strings off a plate of beans that a former customer had consumed. "Where's the potatoes?" asked Mr. Traveling Man of the' haughty waiter. "Why, we've Just sent the landlord out to the farm six miles south of here, to dig some," replied the waiter. "And this prune," said the traveling man, "I hate to send the poor thing alone to it's destruction without company," "Well, you're not supposed to eat that prune. That's the only one we have left and we're using that to decorate the room with," replied the waiter, "All we furnish here is a plate of good Imagination and it's up to you to do the rest."
