Mr. Morton and George Stoken of Hobart, met a party of Chicago friends in this city last night ; and went to Kankakee where they will enjoy a fishing, party. MOTORED TO CROWN POINT. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hutton and son William, and Mrs. and Mrs. Robert Kidney, went to Crown Point today to attend the fair, making the trip in Mr. Ilutton's machine. MISS SEISA ENTERTAINS. A pleasant surprise party was given in honor of Miss Anna Seisa, at her heme on 546 West State street, Satur day eventng-, Aug. 15. The evening was spent with games, music and danc ing. Music was furnished by Mr. Fred Lempke. At 11 o'clock a dainty luncheon was served. Those present were the Misses Anna Leisa, Agnes Schultz, Theresa Eaars, Alma and Anna Eggebrechi, Marie Rohwedder, Helen Genrich, Anna Hansen, Lizzie Sanders, Lizzie Rlchmann and Mary Wulf. Messrs. Willie Schultz, Norman Busch, George Fleck, Roy Richards, Arthur Ron, George Rohewedder, Gus Wulf, Chas and Fred Rlchmann, Henry Peter sen, Fred Lempke, Louis Wassermann and Ernest Kerner. Rothchild, who are vlsitirtig in Yellow Stone Park, have gone t Omaha and Doluth for a few weeks. II. H. S. DANCING PARTY. The H. H. S. club are giving a danc ing party in Long's hall this evening. Music will be furnished by TeBrlae's orchestra of East Chicago and dancing will begin at 8:30 o'clock. About 300 invitations have been issued to Ham mond, Chicago, East Chicago and Indi ana Harbor young people. GIVE FISH FRY. Mr. Frank Hostler gave a delightful fish fry last evening at Berg's place lake 'front, to "twelve young people in honcr of Miss Josephine Coughlin oil Hancock, Mich., who is the guest of Miss Betzie Evers." The' young people left on the S:30 car and after supper various' things were done to make the evening a pleasant one. At a late hour the party returned. to Hammond. Those who were in attendance were, Mr. and Mrs. Kenny, Misses Josephine Coughlin, Elizabeth Evers, Marian Demingv Mary Krost, Miss Powell of Virginia, Messrs. Ralph Garber, Chas. Fuller, Chas. Dlming, Wm. Evers, Ralph Hastier. BOYS SURPRISE THEIR FRIEND. The boya of Barring and Magoon avenue East Chicago surprised John Stratford it being his birthday. There were 18 present and a good time was reported by all. Snap shots of the 18 boys were taken. A dainty lunch was .served. IS BACK FROM MILWAUKEE. Miss Mary Hardy, Miss Kate Lytle of Pittsburg, and Mrs. Doughlas returned last evening after a pleasant visit of a few days in Milwaukee. GOES TO DENVER FOR HEALTH. One of the sisters at Lafayette, who Is very ill, came to this city last even ing to rest before going on to Denver, Clo., where she goes for her health. GIVING PEDRO PARTY. The members of the Deborah Aid society and Martha society of the Chrli tian church picnicked at the lake front yesterday afternoon and evening. - A large number of ladies were present and all enjoyed the day at six o'clock they had supper and returned here, congratulating themselves on the suc cess which the day proved to be. MRS. BULL ENTERTAINS. Mrs. Fred Bull entertained the la dies of the Fern Leaf club yesterday at her home. It was the regular meet ing and cards were the afternoon's enjoyment. Mrs. E. J. Seeiy won first prize, Mrs. Travers, second, and Mrs. Chas. Stotz of Jackson. Mich, the con solatlon. The club will meet again in two weeks with Mrs. Chas. Clark of 51 Russell street. The club's guests for the occasion were, Mesdames Chas. Stotz of Jackson, Mich.; Thomas Ken nedy, Carl Seetz and Mrs. Webber. At the close of the meeting the hostess served dainty lunch. HAVING DELIGHTFIL TIME. Mrs. Mary Hansen has received a letter from her daughters. Misses Marie and Beatrice Hansen, who are at Paw Paw Lake, stating that they are having a delightful time and expect to return home about Tuesday. FLEIB-I)E-I.IS CUB MEETS. Mrs. Nicholas entertained the ladies of the Fleur-de-lis Club yesterday afternoon at her home. Sixteen ladies were present and cards were enjoyed during the afternoon. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Osbourne, Mrs. John Uuber and Mrs. Sophia Krowlwltz. The club will be the guest of Mrs. Osbourne in two weeks. After the afternoon with cards, Mrs. Nichols served dainty refreshments. VISITING HAMMONIJ. A reception will be held at the bride's home, 848 Hickory street after the ceremony. The bride-to-be is a sister of Miss Augusta Tangerman, who married Mr. Rossenau last Tuesday. SUBMITS TO OPERATION. Phillip Tack of the Erie hotel, was operated upon at St. Margaret's hos pital yesterday as the result of a fall he sustained some time ago. Mr. Tack was one of the class initiated into the Shrine recently and cam here from Pennsylvania. EDITOR HERE ON VISIT. Mr. C. L. Shless, editor of the Daily News at Lafkin, Tex., is here on a visit to his mother, Mrs. M. Rubin on State street. TAKE LONG LAKE TRIP. Leonard Knoerzer, of the Champion Potato Works, and wife, and Walter Schreiber, will leave tomorrow for Ot tawa, Canada, where a branch establishment of the Champion Potato works will be installed and of which Mr. Schreiber will be the manager. Mr. and Mrs. Knoerzer will from there go on an extended visit through the New England states and the East in general. Some of the cities they will visit are New York, Boston, and Buftlo.
