TROLLEY PARTY A Sl'CCESS. The members of the Christian church band gave one of the first trolley parties of the season last evening and it was very largely attended by people from Hammond and surrounding cities. There were three cars chartered to go to Jackson Park hy way of Manhattan Beacr, but owing to the lateness of the hour before leaving Hammond, they did not reach Jackson Park. The band furnished miifi'' during the entire trip and all who attended report a pleasant time. A good sum was realized which will be used for the benefit of the church.

QVIET WEDDING. The wedding of Miss Mary II. L.oe and D. L.. Scanlan. both of Hammond, took place yesterday at which Justice of the Peace Frank Prest, officiated. The wedding was very quiet only the relatives and briends of the bridal couple being in attendance.

(Special) The house-warming given by the local K. of P's last night, which was attended by about firty members of the Hammond uniform rank, K. of P's and members of Iodge 210, K. of P., was one of the biggest events in the annals of the local lodge's history. The Hammond contingent came down on the evening milk-train and made things lively until they left on the evening train. Julian Youche and George Horst were the candidates to have the work conferred upon, and were through the ordeal under flying colors. Caterer Johnson served the refreshments, liquid and otherwise, and the Hammond crowd returned loud In their prises of Crown Point's hospitality. The K. P's here, are now in a flourishing condition, after several years of inactivity and there are now six other applicants to enter the lodge. The old members have taken a new lease o life and will endeavor to make the K. of P's the largest and most popular fraternal organization in town. The guests from Hammond were:

Gettysburg, Pa., July 24. An allnight search throughout Camp Hayes, where the 10,000 nun of the national guard of Pennsylvania have been in camp for a week, and which was last night visited by a terrific electrical and wind storm, shows that three soldiers were struck dead by lightning find that nearly a half-hundred other persons were injured by the electrical bolts or were otherwise hurt. It was probably the wildest night the historic battelground has experienced since the memorable July days of 1S83. Those killed were: Corporal Milton ("raver, company C. 10th regiment. Cniontown. James A. Pa rbe, company H, 10th regiment, Wayneshurg. Private Clyde Morrison, company D, -6th regiment. The dead were members of the 2d brigade, composed of regiments from the western part of the state, most of the storm damage occurring in the section of the field occupied by that brigade.
