CROWN POINT NEWS

Auto Meeting Called. A meeting will be called in the near future by our automobile enthusiasts, asking the cooperation of our citizens in helping land the great automobile races, mentioned In these columns some time ago. They will make an effort to gen enough signers to a petition that will wield enough influence upon Gov. Hanly to consent to the use of the State militia as guard of the course for that great event. Hold Drumhead Meeting. Four members of the Salvation Array corps held a drum-head meeting on our streets and from a distance it was hard to tell whether it was a vaudeville performance or a religious affair, they wording their religious songs to the popular tunes and melodies of the day. At that, whatever their ways mey be or how unorthodox their methods, no one questions their since! Ity and the good they have done throughout the slums In the civilized world and donations from our citizens were freely given to the band. They closed their engagement here lut night and returned to Valparaiso.
