Mlss Stella Gevhowski, a midwife, was before Judge George Reiland yes
terday on a charge of assault and battej-y preferred bty Mrs. B. Marcovich. From the evidence it would seem that Mrs. Marcovich accused Mrs. Geohowski of being drunk. Mrs. M., however, being a lady of considerable spirit herself, refused to stay put and jumping up went after the professional woman. The accounts of the subsequent events appeared to be somewhat conflicting, but there seems to be no doubt that enough hair was lost to make a very respectable switch and both ladies displaced a vigor of vocabulary that would have
made a sailor green with envy. The judge let the midwife down with $15.65 in al land she immediately swore out a warrant against Mrs. Marcovich for provoke.
