Distinctive improvement may be looked for. Bache The action of Union seems to us to indicate bullish manipulation and we would not be surprised to see higher prices very soon. Mille We repeat our views that the market has considerable things in store for it. White we believe the bulge in wheat ended yesterday and favor sales of the new crop deliveries at present leyels. Bartlett We look for a falling off in the current movement by the end of the week. Stocks corn everywhere are

light.-. ... .

Pringle We look for higher prices for July wheat and advise buying it.

We expect to see it pull further away

from the September also. Ware & Leland It is possible that small declines may appear hut the situation is a strong one and we would favor buying July and September wheat on weak spots. Barren We continue to favor the long side of wheat on all good breaks. At the same time we think it advisable to accept good profits when offered as there is nothing in the situation at the moment to warrant any decided change In values. Financial Bureau Latest information on Union Pacific and Reading is bullishly aggressive. We continue to regard Atchison, Southern Pacific and Northern Pacific as purchases whenever heavy. Brt. is being accumulated for a rise later and we would be gov

erned accordingly. The Pennsylvania bond issue and dividend reduction have been largely discounted, and while temporary recognition may be taken there of by a moderate drop, in such extent purchases for turns ought to be

profitable. Miller Feature so far has been buy

ing of steel by a lower Broadway house often prominent in Rdg. Some

scattered buying of stocks on orders from abroad. Arbitrage houses sold a little at the opening, we look for much higher prices for Union. Some discussion about the Norfolk dividend

meeting tomorrow. The reduction, if

there is one, has long since been dis

counted. Buy Union Pacific for much

higher prices.

There is now nothing to prevent the

construction of the $500,000 sewer system which the East Chicago com

pany has been considering putting into drain in the southen part of Indiana Harbor from the branch of the canal leading into the lake to the river.

The last obstacle, according to Man

ager George W. Ross, in proceeding with this gigantic undertaking, was re

moved when the annexation of Gras

selli to East Chicago became an as

sured fact by yesterday's decision in sured fact by yesterday's decision in

for a writ of injunction preventing the

annexation, was denied by Judge

Relter. Real Reason for Change of Heart. There have been various reasons assigned for the East Chicago company's withdrawing its objections to the con

junction of the two towns, but the real

reason it develops lay in the proposed sewer system. The plan of building a sewer which would drain all the territory which now is partially submerged on the occasion of every heavy raln, lias long been a pet one with the East Chicago company. For reasons, too, involved to go into at length at this time, there was no chance for the sewer to find an outlet in the river so long as Grasselli and the intervening property was in no wise affiliated with East Chicago. The desire to see this undertaking completed is accountable for the change of heart of the big concern which founded Indiana Harbor and made it the thriving city it now is. President Todd Visits City. Robert E. Todd, of Boston, president of the East Chicago company, who is

not prone to mix up actively in the com

pany's affairs, has been in this vicinity for the past few days. No one knew the exact nature of his business. It appears the question of the proposed annexation of Grasselli had much to do with his presence hereabouts. While the greatest direct benefit of the sewer will be derived by the property .owners and the residents in the at present altogether undrained part of Indiana Harbor, the big sewer system will be the means of a comlete change in the sewer system of the entire city. The system already In will" be drained Into the new mains and the pumping station abandoned." This "will be a great saving to the city.
