Mclntyre Rairoad earnings. Bank clearances and trade reports generally continue of such a character as to preclude the development of tnythlng better than a narrow. Irregular traders market for small turns for some time to cime. Miller Indications point to a broader and more extensive market with a gradually improving tendency and ew believe that such dips as of yesterday should be taken advantage of to add to lines. Dick General business conditions will ultimately determine the course of the market and It is because a significant improvement in this quarter that we favor sales of long stocks on all fair rallies. Barrell We would not Ignore profits on bulges in wheat as reactions from time to time are to be expected. Logan There is enough bull sentiment to take hold of the wheat market quickly on any good set back.
Ware & Leland We look for higher
prices in wheat, while favoring buy
ing in July and September on all small
dips.

Indiana Harbor, April 21. (Special.)
An Innocent pair of trousers has been
the cause of any amount of trouble in Indiana Harbor, since they were purchased by a customer of Mrs. Sarah Zablin, who runs a clothing store in Cedar street.
The circumstances involve a vision
which came true, an accusation which
failed to be proven true, an arrest for
provoke, a fine for ditto, another fine
for contempt of court, and a fugitive from Justice is the individual who was fined for contempt, but who managed to slip out of the room while Judge Jones who ws the fall guy for this peck of troubles, and Constable Muller, his
accessory, were not looking.
It seems that the said pants, (these trousers were really pants,) had been
purchased Friday, the man who bought
them having in view the purpose of
wearing them to church on Easter
They were too long and were left for alteration, being thrown over a pile of
unsold goods on the counter.
That night Mrs. Zabin was awakened out of a Bound sleep by a vision. It was that some one had willfully and felonerously stolen the pants. She
went into the store to Investigate.
Alas, too true! The pants were not
there.
She bethought her of Mary Varona. Mary had scrubbed the floor the day before, and it seemed reasonable to Mrs. Zablin to suppose that she had stolen
the garment.
Early next day she visited the home
of Mary and accused the scrub-lady of
being a thief.
Mary denied all knowledge of the trousers and had Mrs. Zablin arrested
for provoke. The case was tried be
fore Justice Jones yesterday and here
the plot thickens.
All the witnesses who appeared to
testify that Mrs. Zablin was too much
of a lady to call any other lady a thief,
insisted on talking at once. One little Hebrew was especially of fensive to his Honor in this respect.
Judge Jones flnaly made an example
of him and fined the offender $5.
But while all were talking nobody was looking the little chap on whom
the contempt fine had been imposed, quietly faded away. -When his absence was noted, -an ef
fort was made to identify him and bring him into court, but strange as
it may seem, no one knew who he was
though until he disappeared all seemed to be on friendly enough terms with
him. The case ended with Mrs. Joblin be
ing" fined $1 and costs and Constable Muller registering a vow that he would bring the abstreperous and fugitive
witness into court and make him pay
his fine if it took all summer.
