Gary, Dec. 21. (Special.) Thfe local unions have decided to wage war upon the Gary & Interurban line, according to reports emenating from headquarters, and will take a novel stop

in an attempt to bring the powers that be to time. They will send out reports throughout the country to like organizations and request that they boycott the Gary & Interurban by re- f fusing to purchase any stock of the company. As the stock is being sold 1

to tho middle and working classes throughout the country, they think ; that this will have the desired effect. It is the claim of the union people that the road is hiring non-union la

bor. Colonel W. P. Howard, representing the Co-operative Construction company, which is building the road, claims the matter was never called to his attention. Will Try to Mollify luionn. He stated to a Times reporter that he had really never considered the matter, but would do so at once and would try to arrange the matter with the local unions. He stated that there were about 100 men at work in Gary at the present time and whether the men were members of a union or not, he did not know. The work on the road is being pushed with great rapidity and will be in working order by summer. The com
