The auction sale of the Ruche & Ryan stock of wet goods takes place today and a number of business men Will be on hand to bid on the goods. James F. Dowllng has been appointed deputy marshall. Two huge stones, weighing many tons fell from a chain on which they were being hoisted into position at the First National bank building today and one of them was broken. Nobody was injured, but the loss will be about 1150. W. R. Diamond was called to Laporte yesterday by the illness of his mother. W. C. Hutton attended the services at the Congregational church last right.

The musical recital of Miss Donahue's pupils was witnessed Saturday evening by a large and enthusiastic audience. About twenty-five of the pupils were present, the greater rart being unable to attend. There were almost thirty numbers rendered and each one was splendid. One of the features was the violin solo given by Miss Melvina Nelson of Chicago. After the program, which lasted about two hours, a lunch was served, after which, those desiring to do so, took
part in a dance. The pronounced a success tended.

take place Monday at Oak Hill.

Turner being taken by some Italians in this vicinity. Charles Lane has rented S. A. Love's farm west of here for next year. Geo. Fraily, who is there now, is looking for a suitable farm elsewhere. Baled hay is being received in large quantities now. The LeRoy creamery is doing a rushing business now. Friday they shipped over 300 pounds of butter. Coal here now is selling for ?4 per
ton. Samuel Alexander Thompson, electric motor car conductor in Chicago, came out to visit his parents near LeRoy for a few days last week. He returned home Friday evening.

On account of a breakdown of the
engine at Reynolds, the milk train was
three hours late Sunday morning. Merritt Kelsey has bought a Rambler automobile, which he will use in his livery barn. The sad news is received here from Rreston, announcing that Mrs. George Wood is insane, necessitating a guard over her all the time.
