The fact that Gary has a wonderfully large transient population Is demonstrated on a rainy day like this. The Incoming trains have their dozens of passengers instead of their hundreds and the streets are deserted and gloomy. In fact there Is nothing so much needed In Gary as sunshine. When it is cloudy and rainy there arc few warm and inviting windows to look into and the soaked sand dunes simply emphasize tho lugubrious blueness of everything.
