Mr. and Mrs. Harry V. Call spent the afternoon lure today. They are exptoting to move here within a few weeks. They have secured one of the houses on the west side and will have with them Mr. Call's father and family who are now at Elwood., Mr. Call's father 1 Inspector on the South Broadway improvement so that it will prove eminently convenient for all concerned to live here. Mr. Call will have an ofllce in the McCorrnick building after lie gets located here, but will spend practically all of his time at Hammond where he is associated with, Attorney L. L. Bomberger. Homer Dobbins has gone to Crawfordsville, Ind., where he will take a course in law in the Wabash college. Homer filled the position of second baseman in the Lowell baseball team this season. He has a position in the college football and baseball teams.

LV Hardesty has been sick for a few days and unable to attend t6 his duties at the cement plant. John E. Galvin of Lima, Ohio, spent Wednesday with his father, J. W. Galvin, of Pennsylvania avenue. Miss Mae Lewis has resigned her position in the postoffice to take a better one in the railroad office at Gibson. Rev. T. D. Phillips came out from the city today and reports that he is very busy these days attending to his duties in Chicago as Episcopal clergyman. Oliver Olin has been in a Chicago hospital for some time, but expects to be able to return home in another week. His mother came from LaPorte today to see him. Hatch & Co. have about completed all their paving contracts and expect to leave here soon for this year. Black avenue and Washington street have cot been finished and will not be this year on account of the sewers not being in. There Is to be another change in the management of the South Bay hotel Oct. 1. B. F. Mann, who has been here but a short time, will be succeeded by the Barker brothers, two sons of Meyer Barker of this place.
