After the different representatives had shown their lines the board and superintendent Wirt went over the bids and samples finally awarding the work of furnishing the lines tothe American Stating company represented by Mr. Scott who came up from Indianapolis to attend the meeting. School desks, teachers desks, teacher's chairs, crayon and erasers were included in the order, delivery to be made in time for school to open September 1.

The Lake Shore Railroad company is running a long switch from its north main track up Broadway. This switch will be used to care for the transporting of cement, sand, gravel and other supplies incidental to the construction of the gigantic abuttments that are to be a part of the elevated construction at Broadway just

Mr. Moore and the appraiser looked up property on which the firm is placing, loans and the salesmen took in the sights of both the town and plant in order to pick up some of the local spirit and enthusiasm to assist them in unloading the firm's paper from this part of the state.
Frank Rieland, proprietor of the Lunch room on wheels just south of the Lake Shore tracks on Broadway, is passing out the favors in honor of the ten pound boy the stork left last evening at his home in East Chicago. Both mother and baby are doing well. Rieland is making arrangements to erect a building on the concession he secured of the C. L. S. & S. B. electric line people. He expects to make it large enough to take care of his patronage in a fairly proper manner and not the Pie counter rush style that now prevails.
