Heroine of 1 1 Years Who Warns Occupants of a Burning Hotel Until She Collapses. Boston, April 2. Louisa Plympton, 11 years old, showed great heroism at a fire in the Hotel Nottingham on Huntington avenue here. In warning occupants of many rooms, continuing her efforts until she collapsed, nearly overcome by smoke. Firemen came upon her in a hallway and removed her before she became wholly Insensible. The girl discovered a great mass of smoke filling the corridors on the fifth floor and gave the alarm by rapping on the door of every room in the corridors and then running upstairs and warning the occupants of every apartment there. Sheriff Rabon, of Aiken county, this state, has been arrested in Jefferson county, Ga., charged with carrying a pistol. He was convicted, the sentence being $20 fine or four months on the chain gang. The South Carolina official was armed with requisition papers from Governor Terrell and was endeavoring to arrest a fugitive from this state.

Haywood Trial Is Set. Boise, Ida., April 2. The trial of

Haywood, one of the officers of the Western Federation, of Miners, charged

Falls Fifty Feet to Death. Fittsburg, Fa., April 2. Three men were caught on the Bessemer and Lake Erie railroad bridge at Turtle Creek, near here, by a fast passenger train. Two of the men hung to the ties, allowing the train to pass over them, but the third, Samuel Cardiac, was knocked off the bridge to the ground, fifty feet below, and killed. Holbrook Pleads Guilty. Chicago, April 2. F. A. Holbrook, referred to as the chief promoter of the so-called church and school furniture trust, pleaded guilty as charged in the two indictments recently returned by the federal grand jury, alleging violations of the Sherman antitrust law and conspiracy to restrain trade in the United States.

Public Debt Statement. Washington, April 2. The monthly statement of the public debt shows that at the close of business March ?0, 1907, the total debt less cash in the treasury amounted to $909,100,506, which was a decrease as compared with March 1 of $11,53S,2S8. Killed by Her Own New Auto. Oneonta, N. Y., April 2. Mrs. E. S. Loveland, a niece of the late Collis P.
