HOLD MONSTER MEETING FOR GOOD DRAINAGE.
Wliole Calumet Reslon To Be HepreHented at South Chicago Gatherins. The fight for the Calumet Auxiliary to the drainage canal has become so heated and the enemies of the project have been working so hard to defeat the plan of President McCormick to give the Calumet region an outlet other than the lake for their selvage, that it la now proposed to hold a monster meeting In South Chicago at which representatives from the whole Calumet region could gather and decide upon gome concerted action in favor of the project. President A. F. Kestermeycr of the
South Chicago Business Men's association is enthusiastic over the plan and believes that this would be the most effective means of crystalizing the sentiment of the business men of the whole Calumet region in favor of the plan. President McCormick knows that in the business men of Hammond he has strong and iHithusiastic allies in favor of the Calumet canal and he is diplomatic enough to Include them in the proposed affair so that the congressman from the tenth district will use his Influence to further the project. The business men of South Chicago, Hammond. East Chicago and all of the other cities in this region are heartily in favor of the project and will, if they act in concert, be a big influence in favor of the plan.
