This would be a ruinous thing for the fourth ward as the employes of th.- new plant would go to South Chicago to live instead of Robertsdale-.. Son ill liie::o ojiltl Ii-ii,(it. South Chicago won hi get all of the

hem-lit from a Hammoml industry and the territory in Illinois would be built up at the expense of that in Indiana. The property owne rs in Robertsdale realize that if the Yellow line was extended ail the way to Gary as the promoters say it will be, the benefit derived from increased transportation facilities would off. t the loss of the few m.-n that would go to South Chicago especially when the fact is taken into consideration that in this case the extenshm would also would give Robertsdale street ear facilities to the new plant and its greater proximity to the site of this new industry would give the foruth ward the advantage over distant South Chicago.

Put the people of Robertsdale think that the Caiumet Eehctric dees not intend to go farther than the Western Glucose company's plant and they are on fluir guard. The matter will be- taken up with the board of public works and if a franchise is granted there will have to be provisions for tlie building of the whole line to Gary or there will be vigorous objections on the part of the Hammondites who live along the lake shore.
