New York, Aug. 10. Liquidation in stocks continued again today with liberal selling of all of the higher priced rails and a few of the more active industrials. St. Paul was the leader in the bear movement and selling in this stock was on a large scaLe with nrices generally receding

bear operators pressing their advantage and producing a decline of three

points, these two stocks were the market factors and their influence had a tendency to weaken the balance of the list. In the industrial group, Copper was the weak feature, suffering a decline of two points from yesterday's closing prices, the selling of this security is probably based on the fact that the metal market in both Europe and this country is in a somewhat artifiicial condition and that producers of the raw material are taking advantage of it to unload their surplus stock. Trading in Pennsylvania was in enormous quantities and the buying was of an excellent character. It was the only strong feature of a pronouncedly bearish market. In the last half hour there was

a spasmodic rally of about one point from the low levels established early, brought about chiefly by a few timid shorts inclined to take their profits.

demand fair. Quite a little cash corn bought from Illinois farmers, the first in several weeks. The market closed weak without any rallying power. Oats weaker and in sympathy with the other cereals. There were a few

' had reports circulated as to the grow

ing crop In Nebraska, but as a market factor were of little" consequence. Cash oats in the sample market one half cent lower. Provisions dull and lifeless. Receipts of hogs here increasing daily and this may revive speculation in hog products.
