These eighteen petitions, if acted upon fovorably and the probabilities are they will be, will add some sixty miles more to Lake county's gravel road system at a cost of nearly $275,000, and this is really but the beginning. With the change of real estate assessment to be made next year and the probable great inin taxable valuations, each township will be able to increase its bonded indebtedness, and thus enable it to build more roads, and the time is not far distant when every public thoroughfare in the county will be a city street paved with macadam or gravel.
