PLANS MADE FOR COMMUNITY XMAS

Committees representing the civic organizations of the community, namely—the parents-teachers association, the Home Economics Club, Lions Club, DeMotte Business Men’s Club, A merlean Legion Post 440 and their Auxiliary Unit 440 and* the Band Mothexs met at the Todd Funeral Home this Tuesday evening to discuss plans for the 1949 community Xmas. Mrs. James Cobeily was selected as chairman. Money is needed to purchase the treats, which are given to the school children and pre-school youngsters, who will be on hand. Also those of you who are Christmas spirited and wish to help those less" fortunate in this locality—You are asked to please donate food (canned goods), nuts, candies, toys, clothing or anything that might go into a Xmas basket. December 13th, at the LowellDeMotte basketball game, announcement will be made telling where and when your contribution will be received. The committees will meet again Wednesday evening, December 14th at the Todd Funeral Home. Names of needy families should be submitted to some member of one of the above organizations by that time if possible.
