DEMOTTE-MT. AYR GAME
Tuesday evening the DcMotte first team beat the first team of Mt. Ayr on the latter’s home floor. The game got away to a good start. In the first period DeYoung, Hoffman, Kingma, Fase, and Heimlich scored for DeMotte. Elijah, Deno, Lindahl, and Smith put the ball in for Mt. Ayr. By the end of the first period DeMotte was in the lead 14 to 8. In the second period DeYoung and Hoffman made one foul shot each, and Kingma made 2 baskets and Heimlich one. Deno, Elijah and Summers made foul shots for Mt. Ayr. Elijah and Lindahl made one basket each, and that ended the first half with DeMotte in the lead 22 to 15. In the third quarter Elijah Lowe and Johnson made one foul
shot each for Mt. Ayr. Deno, Hockney and Johnson made baskets for' Mt. Ayr. Hoffman made one basket for DeMotte, Kingma made 2 and Heimlich one, at the end of the third period the score was DeMotte 30 Mt. Ayr 24. In the last period DeMotte points were made by Fase, 2 point, Hoffman, 4 points, Boer 4 points, Kingma 1 and Heimlich 1. The Mt. Ayr points were made by Lindahl 3, Bachman and Franke 2. When the game ended DeMotte was in the lead 42 to 32.
