Death Summons Mrs. John Jones Of Whealfield
Former Rensselaer Resident Dies At Valparaiso Saturday A Few Hours After Stroke Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Jones, once prominent in Rensselaer life who had spent the last thirtyfive years as a resident of Wheatfield community, died at Sorter Memorial hospital in Valparaiso at 4:50 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Her death followed by a few hours a stroke of paralysis by which she was stricken early Saturday morning. Mrs. Jones was born in Ohio March 5, 1872, a . daughter of Jacob Kibler and Hester Ann (Lewis) Kibler. Her early girlhood years were spent in the community of her birth. She was married to John L. Jones in Rensselaer in 1893, and this city remained their place of residence until they established a home at the edge of Wheatfield about 1914, where she had since lived, where she had since lived. The immediate survivors include the husband, four children, Mrs. Mabel Miller of Knox, Frank Jones of Wheatfield, Mrs. Mary Shuster of Gary and Boyd Jones of Wheatfield; twenty-six grandchildren, seventeen greatgrandchidlren, and a brother, William Kibler, of Bourbon, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two daughters. Mrs. Jones was a member of Rensselaer Christian church. The funeral services were conducted from Wheatfield Assembly of God church at 1:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. John A. Forner of Wheatfield in charge. Interment was at Wheatfield cemetery. Todd’s Funeral Home of DeMotte was in charge. During her years of residence here Mrs. Jones was known by most of our citizens. The family residence was on S. Park avenue during which time Mr. Jones was the proprietor of a dairy. Mrs. Jones was widely esteemed as a kind, energetic lady who was deeply interested in her home and community. Her Christian character earned her the respect and admiration of everyone.
