Jasper county’s share of the cost of meeting the Federal government’s anticipated ss*2 billion definite number of years’, the Incal year will amount to $459,718, “plus interest for an indefinite number of years,’ thhe Indiana State Chamber of Commerce estimated recently. Meeting the total spending budget for the year will cost the people of the country an estimated $3,635,948, or ap average of $951 for a family of four “persons, the Chamber said. Estimates were based on the recent official midyear of the federal budget setting forth expenditures of $434 billion for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1950, as compared to recejpts computed at S3B billion, leaving a deficite of $54 billion. “The countys share of current federal expenditures is 4.5 times the total property taxes collected for local and state purposes in the country,” the Chamber pointed out. Indiana’s total share of federal expenditures this year will be approximately $996,150,000 more than four times as much as the , expenditures of state government for all its own purposes, plus distribution to local governments for schools, highways, public welfare and general government.” Little David Watson spent a few days this week visiting relatives in Monon. -
