Co. Fair Beef Tops Chicago Market

Twenty-One Animals Sold At Fairgrounds Friday Afternoon At Excellent Prices The 4-H beef steers suid at the Auction on the fairgrounds Friday at prices ranging from two to three cents above Friday’s Chicago price. Dunn Bros. Sloat Market of Francesville paid $29.25 per CWT for the reserve champion Angus steer shown by Jack Fenwick of Jordan township. The Grand Champion steer which was an Angus will be exhibited at the Indiana State Fair. Twenty-one steers were sold at the auction at prices ranging from $27.00 to $29.25. Twelve steers sold for $28.00 or more per CWT. Buyers supporting the 4-H club auction were Mert Harrington of Brook who purchased eight steers, Dunn Bros, of Francesville who purchased three steers; Brusnahan Implement Co. of Rensselaer; Farmers National Bank, Remington; Bahler Feed Co., Remington; Farmers Elevator, Remington; Remington Locker Plant; State Bank of Remington; Farmers Mutual Insurance Co., of Remington; and Vern Williams of Remington. The Jasper County Fair Board, the Jasper County Farm Bureau Coop and John Montgomery of Kentland.
