Swine Judging School August 1
To Be Held In Connection With 57th Annual Meeting Of Association At Purdue The Indiana Association of Expert Swine Judges will again hold its judging school in connection with the 57th annual meeting at Purdue University, Monday, August 1, according to announcement made by J. A. Hoefer, acting sec-retary-treasurer of the association. Judging certificates will be issued to all those who qualify according to the rules of the association. One of the chief objectives of the association is to make the judging of hogs relative to type, quality and breed standards uniform over the state. Persons who are engaged to judge hogs at 4-H Club shows, county fairs and even the Indiana State Fair are urged to attend this judging school as well as all hog breeders and other groups interested. In addition to the judging training, discussion periods that accompany the school bring out some interesting facts on judging standards as well as general herd improvement. Judging work will be started at 10 o’clock (Central Daylight Saving Time), continuing until noon, and will be resumed froift 1:30 to 3 o’clock in the afternoon. The judging will be of sow, gilt and fat classes with the five breeds of hogs—Duroc, Hampshire, Chester White, Poland China and Berkshire. A business meeting of the association will be Jbeld at 1 o’clock. All sessions will be in the Purdue Livestock Judging Pavilion. Arthur Tomson, Wabash, is president of the Indiana Association of Expert Sw r ine Judges, and J. W. Ralph Bisshop, Atlanta, is vice-president.
