Wheatfield Farmer Dies
John Wiersma, Native Of Holland, Dies After Long Illness; Rites Tuesday John Wiersma, a farmer residing south .of Wheatfield, died at the family residence at six o’clock Saturday a.m. He had been ill for a year, bedfast much of that time. Mr. Wiersma was born in Holland November 5, 1882. During his early life he came to America. He was married in Chicago Heights, 111., March 9, 1911. Before coming to Wheatfield seven years ago the couple lived on a farm near Grant Park, 111. Mr. Wiersma was a son of Meno and Tietje (DeVries) Wiersma. The immediate survivors include his wife, Dora, a sister, Mrs. Agka Boosma of South Holland, 111., and a Hans Wiersma, also of South Holland. The funeral services were conducted from the Christian Reformed church of DeMotte, of which the deceased was a member ,at 2 o’clock, DST., Tuesday, July 12, with the Rev. Holtrop in charge.
