ILLINOIS BRING FORWARD CANDIDATE FOR HIGHEST LEGION AUXILIARY POST
Candidacy of Mrs. Norman L. Sheehe, of Rockford, Illinois, for National President of. the American Legion Auxiliary has been announced by the Auxiliary's Illinois Department, according to Mrs. Fred L. Boissy, local Auxiliary President: As no other candidates have been announced. Mrs. Sheehe is expected to be unapposed for the leadership of the Auxiliary’s nearly 1.000.0Q0 women, Mrs. Boissy said. The election will take place at the Auxiliary’s national convention in Philadelphia, August 29 to September 1. Mrs. Sheehe is a former National Vice President and a former President of the Illinois Department. She has been nationally prominent in the Auxiliary for a number of years and this year is directing organization’s work for disabled war veterans, as Chairman of the National Rehabilitation Committee. She is the wife of Dr. Norman L. Sheehe, Rockford physician and veteran of both World Wars. Her brother, Major General John Taylor Lewis, is Commanding General at Fort Riley.
