W»H Doers Th« Will-Doers 4-H club met Juae 10 at the home of Wanda Hughes with Kay Phares and Ann Schultz assisting. There were 12. members and 3 visitors present. We answered roll c'all by telling a safety rule. We had DajtJene Vlahos and the 4-H discussion about the judging and demonstration contest to be held July 11. Wanda demonstrated a fruit salad luncheon. Kay demonstrated making drop biscuits. Ann demonstrated making tuna fish salad sandwiches. After the hostesses served us jello, cookies, and kool-aid, we played games. The next meeting will be with Verna and Jean Bryant on June 24. Jordan The Jordan 4-H club met at the Jordan School Friday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was opened by the president. He asked how they wanted to pay for the movie films, it was decided to take a collection. A movie “Valiant Years’’ was shown. There were 14 members and 7 visitors present. Klover-Leaf Club The Klover-Leaf club met June 21 at the schoolhouse with 18 members and 1 visitor present. The meeting was in charge of Mrs. Duggleby and Mrs. Miller. Demonstrations were given by Carol Robbins on Making a cake; Norma Miller on Textile painting. After that the secretary’s report was given. There was a poem by Linda Duggleby. Judging was held on Carol Robbins cake for practice. Linda Duggleby and Carol Robbins served refreshments. A talk on music was given by Mrs. Earl Stalbaum. The next meeting will be July 5 at the schoolhouse. The 49’ers The Gillam 49’e»s club held a 4-H meeting June 22 at Ed Ramey’s home. There were 10 members present. There was no business to be discussed but Keith Nelson gave a talk on Gardening and the meeting was adjourned and games were played and refreshments were served. The meeting adjourned to meet at the home of Jack Stevens. ■ Gillam-Go-Getters The Gillam girls 4-H club met June 21 at the Gillam schoolhouse. The meeting was called to order by the president. The Secretary’s report was read and approved. The roll call was answered by each member. Lois Ramey lead a song. Some demonstrations were given: Patty Houston on deviled eggs, Loretta Walter. on setting a table, Judia Ann Grube on Hemming a towel, RuthFox on how to make fruit punch. Some judging was done by each member. Some games were played. Then refreshments were served by the serving committee, Ruth Stevens, Elaine Burgen and Patty Hilton. The next meeting.will be held at the Independence Church on July 5 at 10:00 a.m. ■ • Busy Lassies The Busy Lassies 4-H club met June 23 at the home of Joyce and Barbara Meiser with 9 members and 3 visitors present. Dur president, Carol Walter, called the meeting to order. The pledges to the flag were repeated. W <• answered roll call by giving our favorite flower. Two demonstrations were given, Barbara Miswer shoyyyd us different kinds of materials in making aprons and towels. Joyce Meiser showed the different utensils used in making drop biscuits. Then Mrs. Walter, our leader, looked over our record books, and our work. Games were played and refreshments were served. The
next meeting will be at Eileen Curnutt on June 30. Jordan Jolly Workers The Jordan Jolly Workers met in June 28 at the home of Mrs. Homer Bramble with 6 members and 3 visitors present. The meeting was called to order by president, Rose Mary Klaus. We gave the pledge to the American flag and the 4-H creed followed by singing “Careless Hands.” Roll call was answered by my favorite pet. We discussed goinc to Lafayette for our annual picnic but nothing definite was decided on. We had a judging contest which was prepared by Mrs. Bramble. Mrs. Bramble furnished refreshments and We prepared them. We had toasted cheese sandwiches, peanut butter cookies and flavor ade. The next meeting will be at Jordan School on July 12 at 1:30 with Peggy Kanne and Eleanor Lawson serving. Dandy Hand The regular meeting of the Union Township Dandy Hand Club was held at Sharon and Margaret Bankenship’s on June 23 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order by the president, last meeting were read and approved. The roll call response was what I enjoy most in 4-H club work. Margaret Blankenship demonstrated how to grease a cake pan. Sharon Blankenship demonstrated the use of measuring utensils. Darlene Vlahos led us in the pledge to the flag and the meeting was adjourned. Refreshments were served. The next meeting will be at Wilma Alexander’s on July 7 at 1:30 p.m.
Modern Priscilla The Modern Priscilla 4-H club
met with Donna Stevens, June 21 at 1:30 CST. The meeeting was called to order by the president, Patricia Hite. There were 12 members and 14 visitors present. Everyone answered the roll call by making their Favorite Book. The secretary-treasurer’s report was given by Norma Gratner. The pledge to the American Flag was given by Judy Pettet, and the pledge to the 4-H flag was given by Lillian Holmes. A clothing discussion and judging was led by Mrs. Hite. A report was given on Junior Leaders Training school by Patricia Hite. Sending a CARE package was discussed. A demonstration on “Potatoe Salad” was given by Norma Gartner. Frances Daugherty gave a demonstration on a “Plain Butter Cake” and Emily Trulley gave a demonstration on a “Meat Salad.” Safety literature was distributed by Nancy Yeoman. Donna Stevens served refreshments which were enjoyed by all. The next meeting will be held at Carol Culp’s, July 5, at. 1:30 CST. Rensselaer The Rensselaer 4-H club held their meeting, Tuesday, June 28, at Suzie Phegley’s home. We gave the 4-H Pledge and the pledge to the flag. There were 25 persent and one guest. The minutes were read and approved by Beverly Williams. Barbara Minniear read through two health charts. Mrs. Hardy told us when cur last meeting will be in divisions. Barbara Caroil moved that the meeting be adjourned and was seconded by Karen Butler. Then we played games in the Gym. The next meeting will be July 28 in the home economic room, favorite flower will be roll call response.
