August 16-20 To Bring Roar Of County Fair

Silver Jubilee Dates Announced; New Season Ticket Price Established | Ralph Amsler, secretary of the Jasper county Fair board announced today that the 25th annual, or jubilee event, wjil begin August 16 and close August 20. Mr. Amsler said plans are underway to make this jubilee event the grandest fair in the history of the Association, with better shows, more prizes, and more rides than ever before. In addition there will be a gate prize for the lucky ticket holder, a set of Rogers silverware service for eight. The Association has set a price of $1.75 for a season ticket. This ticket covered parents and their children under 12 years and his car. The ticket will be good from Tuesday through Friday. Each ticket will be numbered for the closing day raffle of the silver set. This ticket will be sold up to Monday night, August 15 at 6 p.m. After that the prevailing price will be 50 per person and 25c per car. Any club, store or reliable person may procure these tickets by writing the fair board office in Rensselaer or by phoning 270. As an added attraction the fair board will give 10c on each ticket sold to the club, organization or store. In this way organizations can increase their funds. The fair board office is over Long’s drugstore. It will be open Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m., and all day on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.
