SALE OF “E” BONDS IS EXTENDED TO JULY 16TH

Orville R. Maxfield, Indiana State Director for the U. S. Savings Bonds Division, announced today that all sales of “E” bonds up to and through July 16 will count toward county and state quotas. “We are making this extension of time to allow the results of campaigns conducted by many industrial and manufacturing firms to be counted toward local and state quotas," Mr. Maxfield commented. “The opportunity Drive, which officially ends today-, has been concentrated in an effort to urge payroll savings buyers to participate in the program. Strong emphasis has also been given the bond-a-month plan which is operated through the banks in the state.” he explained. “This additional accounting period. which lias been authorized by the Treasury Department, will allow for the increased bond buying brought about by these intraplant and city campaigns to be recorded in the final drive figures."
