A basket dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stowers in honor of her father, Albert Rowan of Fair Oaks. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Rowan. Mrs. Everett McFadden and daughter. Kay of Rensselaer, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bozell and sons of Fair Oaks, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mattocks and daughter, Sonja, of Walkerton, Mr. and Mis. George Hanley and Tyrone of Kentland. Mrs. Elmo Rice went to Hammond last week to visit her sister, Mrs. James Ward, who is quite ill in a Chicago hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Groet and family of Hammond. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Middlekamp and family and Mrs. Florence McClain were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Middlekamp on Sunday to help celebrate Father’s Day. Mr. and Mrs.. Frenchy Dionne, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Filson, Helen Zabrdac and Marion Wilmington enjoyed a weiner roast at the home of Mrs. Elmer Wilmington Thursday evening. A farewell party was given at the Methodist church on Friday evening in honoi* of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Filson. A beautiful silvgr tray 'was presented to the family by the Sunday School and Church. Ice cream and cake were served. The W.S.C.S. will meet at the home of Mrs. Paniel Odle, sr., July 8. The Home Economics club met at the home of Mrs. Luther Myers. June 16. There were fifteen members present 'and four guests, Mrs. John Neely, Margene Neely, Mrs. June Meyers and Mrs. Lee Myers. The club will meet with Mrs. Joseph Jachim July 21. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Rice and family and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rice and family went on a picnic at Bass Lake last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thies, Mrs. John Miller. Mrs. Wm. Keiffer and Mrs. Elmer Wilmington attended the. card party Thursday evening at Sorrowful Mother Parish Hall at Wheatfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wynkoop and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wynkoop, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Misch and family and Mr. and Mrs. Dick David and family of Hammond spent Sunday in Frankfort. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Rekech have jujet returned from a two weeks trip to California, but still prefer good old Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Myers and Mr. and Mrs. Luther Myers attended funeral services at Lowell, Saturday for their brother-in-law, ! Oscar Atwood. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Allen entertained on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Max Allen of Logansport, ; Mr. and Mrs. Pari Allen of I Monon, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer 1 Shroyer and Grandma Daniels of I Rensselaer and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Abbett and family. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Allyn of , Mulberry, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd ! Allyn and son. Eddie were dinner . guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Hanewich and family on Sunday. Eddie returned home with his i grandparents for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. John Osborn and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Osborn and daughter, Mrs. Walter Erne and Gordon Kalb all of Chicago visited with Mrs. Mm. Keiffer and her sister, Mrs. John Miller, , who is staying with her for the summer. Mrs. Elmer M ilmington, and son and daughter had Sunday dinner with Mrs. Kieffer, k Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Nuss and

daughter and Elmo Rice and daughters were dinner guests on Tuesday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rice and family. Mrs. Clarence Stowers entertained twelve members of the Jolly club and one guests, Mrs. b. W. Whittington. Prizes were won by Mrs. Daniel Rekech, Mrs. John M. Middlekamp, Mrs. Simon Groet .and Mrs. N. H. Peterson. Mrs. Roger Wahl won the traveling prize. The club will meet on Wednesday afternoon, July 6, with Ellen Peterson. Miss Roberta Filson of Chicago spent from Monday until Thursday of last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Filson. Miss Filson is a stewardess on the United Airlines. Mrs, Avon Mackin and Mrs. Edward Lowler of Chicago were week-end guests of Mrs. Harriett Crowder. M. E. Sunday school are having a basket dinner on July 3 at Bass Lake. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Whittington and Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Peterson spent Sunday afternoon in Kentland and Brook.
