4 Jasper Co. Judging Teams In Honor Ring
Four Jasper County Units Score Placings At 4-H Club Roundup Four Jasper County 4-H club judging teams won places of honor at 4-H club Round-up. In the announcement of the results yf the contest Friday morning, Jasper County poultry and egg judging team placed 4th in judging poultry and will judge at the State Fair Contest on August 31. This team consisted of Thurman Walker, Betty Williams, Nora Miller, and June Goss all of Wheatfield, coached by Carleton Thorman, vocational ag teacher at Wheatfield. The dairy team placed 12th with 65 teams competing and will take part in the State Fair Contest on September 3. This team was Loren Wilder, John Murray, Richard Knochel, and Glen Stockment, all of Remington. This team was coached hy Wm. Shively, vocational ag teacher at Remington. The livestock team place 6th in judging beef cattle and placed 11th in judging all class of livestock, This was Marvin Roberts, LaDonne Alberts, Dick Ulyat, Tom Carlton all of Remingtons coached by W r m. Shively. This team will judge in the State Fair Contest on September 3. The crops judging team placed 14th with 60 teams competing. This team was Charles Ford, Robert Sheldon, Wm. Schembs, and Larry Tyler, coached by Wm. Shively. Larry Tyler will receive a certificate of proficency in crops judging. Since this is the final contest in crops judging, this team will not have an opportunity to take part in another contest this year.
