RAINS RELIEVE STATE DROUGHT

Indianapolis. June 22.—Rainfall throughout Indiana in the last week has relieved drought conditions and there now is ample moisture in the soil, the weather bureau reported in its weekly crop bulletin today. Precipitation was unusually heavy during the week, and the period from June 10 to June 18, Scottsburg had 9.70 inches o,f rainfall. In several other localities more than four inches of rain fell. Wet fields caused some delay in farm work, and the moisture and high temperatures promoted rapid growth so that 1 fields and gardens are in need of cultivation. The crop bulletin said that wheat throughout the state is in good to very good condition, is ripening, in aljl sections and some in the south is being cut. Corn, too, is reported good to very good and some as excellent.
