VETS WANT ONE LESS PRIVILEGE

Logansport, June 23. A veteran’s organization came up today with a request for one Jess—yes, less—privilege for ex-servicemen. District Commander Russell Fry said the American Legion of the second Indiana district has- asked for repeal of Indiana’s free pedd-

ling privilege for war veterans. At a district meeting in Chesterton, Fry said the Legionaires complained that some veterans have made a racket of wearing overseas caps and selling flag lapel pins. This hurts legitimate businessmen, their resolution says. The state law giving veterans the right to peddle without a license dates back to 1895, when it

was passed for the benefit of Civil war veterans. It has been amended after each war since then to include new crops of veterans. Lynn and Lyle Kessinger have been quite ill with the old fashioned measles the past two weeks. Pvt.. First Class Jim Story was home from Marine Base, Cherry Point, North Carolina last week.
