New Soil Leader Takes Over Duties

John Layden, Jr., District Conservationist Assumes Charge Of Local Office John E. Layden, Jr., newly elevated to District Conservationist, today assumed charge of the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service Headquarters in Rensselaer. This position \vas formerly occupied by Larry Bassett, District Conservationist, who has transferred to Logansport to take charge of headquarters in that city. Mr. Layden was the Farm Planner in the Lake County Soil Conservation District at Crown Point. He is a very energetic and capable young man, well qualified to get the Conservation Job done.
