POLICE DRIVE ON TRUCK VIOLATORS
Indianapolis, June 14. State police opened a campaign against overloaded truck early today at three blockades near here. Weighing stations were set up on three of the busiest roads leading into the city—on road 40 at Cumberland, on 67 at Shadleland Ave., near Lawrence, and on 52 on the northwest side of the city. Sgt. R. Y. Sutton said five violaions were found among 75 rucks stopped within three hours. The 1949 legislature raised weight limits on trucks, but also established heavy penalties for overloading.
