County Clears Cancer Hurdle With Ease
Quota Oversubscribed; One Of State's First To Reach Goal, Chairman Cizek Reports The final report of the Jasper County Cancer Fund drive shows total collection of $2,736.02. The quota was $2,000, which furnishes a total of 136.8 per cent, Chairman E. H. Cizek reports. The listing by city and townships follows: Rensselaer $1016.56 Carpenter 484.12 Newton 77.25 Jordan 125.19 Marion (north & south) 36.00 Union 130.01 Keener 495.43 Barkley 60.25 Kankakee 24.01 Hanging Grove 64.05 Gillam 106.64 Walker 54.95 Wheatfield 64.54 Reports from state headquarters show Jasper county to be one of the first to reach its quota. There are thirty-six counties over the top. The county can be very proud of the record set in this drive against mankind’s greatest enemy.
