ANYONE WANT A HAMSTER

Several months ago we reported that Mr. Bert Stevens had purchased a pair of hamster, (a species of grain-storing rat with two- cheek pouches and a short tail) which he planned to raise for pets. Someone suggested, since Hamsters are a fast multiplying animal, that the gentleman might not have realized just what he- was getting into, but Mr. Stevens assured them he did, and that they would probably not thrive in this climate etc. etc. He just was not worried. Wednesday, June 1, just met Mr. Stevens on main street. “Say” he said, “Put an ad in the Post this week, I got too many hamsters, like to get rid of a few of them.” “How many do yop have now,” we asked, “Don’t know, don’t know,” he replied, “but I just got two more litters yesterday morning, one had four and the other twelve.” Anyone want a few dozen hamsters?
