43 WELLS PUT ON PRODUCTION DURING MONTH OF APRIL

Indianapolis, Ind., June 2. Indiana oil production moved right along this month, after a report from the Oil and Gas Division revealed that 43 oil wells were completed and put. on production during the month of April. * According to Elmer L. Hoehn, director of the Oil and Gas Division for the Indiana Department of Conservation, 63 permits were issued to operators who wanted to drill in known pools in the state and 34 permits were issued

Ito wildcat operators. i Nearly 150 operators are on | location and ready, to drill in twenty-three counties of the state and 40 wells were drilled that proved to be dry. Since the first of the year a total of 129 wells were placed on production and 221 dry holes were drilled. Oil activity that proved successful continued in the ten following counties of the state; Elkhart, Gibson, Jay, Knox. Pike, Posey, Spencer, Sullivan, Vanderburg and Vigo.
