Max Stalbaum In ■ Fort Riley Ciass Of 114 To Receive Army Commissions Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Stalbaum of Tefft have returned home after having gone to Fort Riley, Kansas, where they saw their son, Max, receive Lieutenant bars as a member of an officers’ candidate class of 114. Max is a graduate of Tefft high school, where he was an “A’ f student. Following his graduation, he attended a college in West Virginia for one year. He then enlisted in the army and was
assigned to Japan duty. Following his discharge, he re-enlisted and was sent to Korea, where he served for twenty months with the 6th Infantry Division. It was while he was in Korea that he was chosen for Officers’ Candidate School. For the past six months Lieut.
Stalbaum attended an Army Ground Force Training course. He is home on a 15-day leave and will report at a St. Louis base to attend a finance school. Lt. Stalbaum is a nephew of Mrs. Anna Kanne of Rensselaer.
