Mrs. Hershel Odle entertained ion Wednesday in honor of her husband’s birthday, also for her mother, Mrs. Lowell Dionne. Those present were: Mrs. Mary Stuchmacher, Mrs. Dan Odle, jr., and daughter, Mrs. Carl Allen, Mary Ellen and Jane Dionne. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace E. Martin and family of Charlestown, Ind., spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Harrison Armstrong. Mrs. Wright Armstrong and daughter, Neva spent Monday afternoon in the Armstrong home. . Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Rice and family visited their son, Richard and family last week. The Kniman Grange met at the school house on Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mis. Dan Odle, jr., Mr .and Mrs. John Terpstra and Mrs. Paul Nemith attended a dance in Leßoy, April 16, in honor of -Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Dionne’s twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Miss Josephine Jungel has accepted a position at the Inland Steel Co., Indiana Harbor. Mrs. Emma Mayberry has sold forty acres of her farm to Mr. and Mrs. Homer Griffey. ■ Albert Horrman entered the hospital on Tuesday for surgery. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Allyn of Lafayette and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Hanewich and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Allyn and family. Mrs. Rodger Wahl and children, Mrs. Alex Hanewich and daughters were Crown Point shoppers Saturday and dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Weaver. Later in the evening they visited Mi-, and Mrs. Elmer Bricker in Hebron. Mrs. Paul Nemith and son and Mrs. Harrison Armstrong visited Mrs. Daniel Odle jr., on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Metcalf, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Metcalf of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Te« Filson spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Filson. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Groet and family of Hammond and Mrs. Anna Rohde of Munster spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Middlekamp. Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Peterson were supper guests of her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph O’Connor in Wheatfield on Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Raschka of Hobart observed their 55th wedding anniversary with a family gathering on Sunday. The couples five daughter were present, Mrs. John Fleck, Mrs. Otto Maicke and Mrs. Fred Ewigleben, all of Hobart. Mrs. Clarence Schultz of DeMotte and Mrs. W. R. Mellin of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Raschka have been residents of Hobart for
thirty-four years residing prior to that n Anisworth.
