North Morion The North Marion Happy club met on April 7, at t he home of Viola Martin with Lillie Topp, Phylis Van Burean and Bernice Viliniski co-hostesses. The meeting was opened with all singing the song of the month. It was folowcd by the pledge to the flag. Mrs. Branson gave the history of the song of the month.. The response to roll call was a sentence made with our initials that created much merriment. The Sec-retary-treasuer report were given and cards sent out to ill with all members present putting their names on the cards. Mrs. Branson was chosen our Lady of the week. Dorothy Stotl«r r secretary, stressed the importance of keeping records on the accomplishments from the leaders lessons in our club books. Lona Zimmer, president spoke of the presidents duties and the club members responses. She announced the tea for the officers to be held the Methodist Church. Pennies for friendship this month goes to the suffering over seas. $5 was given to the Cancer drive. Lucy Ramey won the hostess prize. Flower exchange was held. There was much discussion on the Co-Op house to be built at Purdue. Viola Martin invited all the members and their families to a party at her home on Saturday evening, April 24. The May meeting will be with Faye Wiseman. Please be present at 1:30. Kankakee Township The Kankakee Township Home Economics club met on April 12, at the Tefft School. There were 13 members present and 3 visitors. Mrs. Charles Jasperson joined as a new member in our club. The* meeting was opened by singing the song of the'month, “Little Church in the Wildwood.” The roll call, having a flower exchange
was given by each member. Home Demonstration Week was discussed about which is being held from Ist to the 7th. All Officers are invited to a tea on May 6. A rejgart was given on how much our club made at our Bunco Party A motion was made and carried that we give a fund to the Cancer Fund Drive. The prize package, donated by Mrs. Leslie Duggleby, was won by Mrs. Bill Jefferies. The meeting was closed and turned over to the program committee, Mrs. Mary Nelson and Mrs. Paul Stalbam. Refreshments were served by the Hostesses, Mrs. J. W. and Mrs. Clarence Lawrence. The next meeting will be held May 10, at the Tefft School. Junior Homemakers The Junior Homemakers met on Tuesday night April 12, at the home of Mrs. Mary Hiermann with Mrs. Eileen Bogan assisting. There were 12 members present. The president Mrs. Una Lashbrook called the meeting to order. The by-laws of the club were assembled. It was voted to give a , donation to the community hou»e project. The hostess prize was won by Mrs. Rishling. After the business meeting, bunco was played. Mrs. Mary Hershberger winning high score and Mrs. Freida Blackwood low score. The next meeting will be held on May 10 at the home of Mrs. Jeannette Blackhall with Mrs. Jeannette Fitzgerald assisting. Wheatfield The Wheatfield Home Economic club met at the home of Mrs. Floyd Richards April 13. The meeting opened by the group reading the Home Economic Creed followed by singing the song of the month. The members enjoyed a flower seed and flower slip exchange. The secretary gave the minutes of the March meeting. A collection of pennies for Friendship fund was taken. There also a discusssion on a Parent Teach- * ers Association for Wheatfield Township. Mrs. Joe O’Conner gave
a very helpful and interesting lesson on “Easter Washdays.” At the close of the meeting a tasty lunch was served in keeping with the Easter Season. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Jack Smith on May 11.
