The Gary Post-Tribune of April 15, 1949 shows a picture of John Loayza, one of the judges in the Post Tribune Dress Design contest, which will close April 25th. Mr. and Mrs. Loayza and two children, Jimmy and Mary Lou reside in Valparaiso. Mr. Loayza has gained recognition as a leading hair stylist in this area and has designed gowns for leading houses in New York and California. Mrs. Loayza is the former Mary Anderson'of Wheatfield. Hererafter the Baptist church •will hold its weekly meeting on Ihursday evening. Beryl Whitaker and Pat Stembel were married in Kentucky recently. Congratulations to the newly-weds. Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Fitzgerald and Amy Fendig visited Allen Fendig Thursday at Veterans hospital Indianapolis. Allen is improving and would be pleased to hear from his friends. Mrs. C. E. Downey, who has been living in Indiana Harbor is now residing in the Clager property. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Jackson of Gary were guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Blue Easter. The J. A. Hankins family of Lafayette were guests of Blues Sunday. Margaret Devine and Mr. and Mrs. Miles Devine had dinner Easter Sunday at Blues.
