Boy Scout Groups Rally At Morocco

Jasper and Newton Patrols Participate; Troops Are Inspected; Ceremonies Held Thursday night over 75 Boy Scouts and Scouters from Jasper and Newton Counties participated in a Rally in the Morocco High School gym, in which the Owl Patrol of Troop 57, DeMotte, placed first. Troop 50, Jordan Township, the Indian Patrol of Troop 54, Roselawn, and Troop 59, Morocco all tied Tor the number two spot. * Patrols from the following Troops participated: Troop 50 r Troop 52, Rensselaer; Troop 53, Lake Village; Troop 54, Troop 56, Goodland; Troop 57, Troop 58, Rtmington; and Troop 59. Bill Merritt, District 4 Commissioner, was the Master of Ceremonies and introduced Scouter Cecil Hudson who conducted the opening ceremony. John Hudson and Jerome Stevens inspected the assembled Troops, after which Cecil Hudson led the boys in song. Each Scout selected a partner from a different Troop, and 2 three-legged races were run off. Patrol competition on the first 4 Scout Laws followed. All the Scouts are to be commended for their excellent showing in this competition—not a boy missed a Law! After another song, a message relay was held. A campfire and a closing ceremony by Cecil Hudson concluded the program.
