PASSENGER CARS TO BE CHECKED BY POLICE
Indianapolis, April 1. Hoosier motorists were advised today to have their cars conditioned for an intensive statewide safety check emphasis by police during April and May. In conjunction with plans of local police and sheriffs, and state police to check passenger cars for hazardous defects, the Indiana Traffic Safety Commission and the Traffic Safety Council announced that a comprehensive educational campaign will be conducted. Backing the public support drive will be the Indiana and local Junior Chambers of Commerce, the Indiana Inter-In-dustry Highway Safety Committee, the Indiana Sheriffs Association and the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police. All -police agencies in Indiana will be working on this program by setting up voluntary check lanes and blockades. A uniform sticker will be issued to all cars passing inspection.
