DEMOTTE TO PARTICIPATE IN WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
Again, from the United Council of church women comes the call to join with all peoples in a fellowship of prayer on the first Friday in Lent, March 4, 1949. Prayer Services will start in the Fiji Islands, near the International Date Line and prayers will continue westward following the sun, until after many hours the great Amen is sung in the cold Artie and at the same moment in the tropical Tongas. In a thousand differing tongues, and from thousands of differing temples, prayers will rise to the Lord of Life. World Day of Prayer is always an opportunity for fellowship across denominations and and racial lines and deserves our co-op-eration and support. In DeMotte, the prayer services willbe held this year at the local Methodist church on March 4, at 2 p.m. and all the women of the community are invited and urged to attend.
