SCHOOL NEWS

On February 15 the high school saw a motion picture “Abe Lincoln.” It was a silent movie, but was enjoyed immensely. The Girls Sextet went to Rensselaer to hear a concert. They were accompanied by Mr. Moolenaar. On February 8 the DeMotte Indians lost to Mt. Ayr 31 to 37. On Feb. 11 DeMotte lost to Hebron 60-26. That was DeMotte’s last home game. - On Feb. 18 DeMotte plays Francesville there. That is the last game. The Sectional begins Feb. 24 and ends Feb. 26. Tickets are $2.00 a piece. They will be sold Monday morning, February 21 at 8:30. Eight Seniors took scholarship tests Thursday, February 10. We wish them luck. Annual pictures for the annual were taken Feb. 15. Everyone had picture fatigue. On Feb. 14, the dramatic club presented two plays. The first skit consisted of Eleanor Klip, Beatrice Streveler, Betty - Williamson, Janet Hammerton, Doris Coberly, Lucille Covers, Carlo Jo Hout and Ruth Cheever. The girls wrote the play themselves. The second play was a valentine skit. Players were Marilyn Sauer, Anna Mae Belstra, Edna DeVries and Ray Woudema. They were enjoyed very much by the assembly and high school faculty. The girls sextet sang between skits. The grades gave out valentines

on Feb. 14, everyone wanted to be postman.
