WHEATFIELD, YOUTH SERVING IN JAPAN
With the Eighth U. S. Army in Chigasaki, Japan Recruit Robert P. Frybort, 18, R. R. 2, Wheatfield, Indiana, a member of the 95th Light Tank Company (Sep), Ist Cavalry Division, has been promoted to the grade of Private in the New Army Career Plan. Under the New PJ*«. a Private will draw the pay and privilege of an Old Army Private First Class. Th 95th Light Tank Company (Sep), is located twentythree miles south of Yokoahama, Japan, by the shoi’es of SagamiBay and is playing a vital part in the Occupation of Japan with the responsibility for the Hiratsuka Area, which is composed of four-hundred square miles of densly populated Japan. Private Frybort enlisted in the Army, July 8, 1948, undergoing basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He arrived in Japan, September 1, 1948, and was assigned to the 95th Light Tank Company (Sep). Prior to enlisting in the Army, Private Frybort attended High School at Wheatfield. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fry- % bort, who reside at the same address, Wheatfield, Indiana.
