R.E.M.C. ANNUAL MEETING WELL ATTENDED
Approximately 400 people were in attendance at the 9th Annual Meeting of the Jasper County R.E.M.C. held in the Rensselaer Armory the afternoon of Feb. 8, 1949. For many of those who attended, it was their first meeting as they had received service for the first time during the last year due to the expansion program completed by the local Cooperative. The Wheatfield High School band, under the able direction of Mr. Carl Doherty, gave a thirty
minute musicale at the beginning of the meeting that was enjoyed by everyone present. The business meeting was under the direction of the President, Mr. Carl Nesius. During this part of the program financial and statistical reports were given by the officers and personnel of the project. Present day operating /costs and future developments were also discussed. The Hoosier Ramblers, a quartette from White County, gave several musical numbers during the meeting. Two very interesting speakers rounded out the well planned program. Mr. Charles Kenyon, of the Application and Loans Division of R.E.A., gave a splendid explanation on Capital Credits and Power Use.
